NewYear……NewDirection
I’ve cleaned the cobwebs, cleared out the garage and wiped out the cutlery drawer……. it’s going to be a good year! Starting things on the front foot.
Over the summer break, I took a slight step back when looking at the business and I have some new ideas and thoughts around what kind of design studio I wish to provide. Over the first 2 years it was about staying afloat and being a full time job. Tick and tick. I am starting to develop a name for myself be it small and quiet. There are things though rolling around my head I need to develop further.
When I say a new direction, it’s more of a focussed direction.
Intentional. Calculated. Conscious.
I want to contribute to the construction scene adding beauty and individualism without compromising on quality and sustainability. I want to encourage clients to build smarter homes with better use of spaces and minimise the footprint.
Build smaller homes and build them bloody beautifully!
Help clients save money in strategic places, so they can have the things that make the space a home and unique. Robust and withstanding.
I won’t be recommending cheap inferior products just because they are well marketed. I certainly won’t be selecting the fast fashion of the interiors world. It will be curated and classic while keeping a unique and interesting appeal. I want homes to last a very long time and have a stamp on them of who was there. We need to allow ourselves to build homes that may not appeal to everyone but they speak volumes of ourselves and will connect with others in the future.
If it wasn’t done before, I’ll try it out. My clients will be movers and shakers. Explorers and pioneers.
I can’t wait to share many of the thoughts rolling around my head, but for now… Happy Monday!

Kintsugi Repair Kit from Made Of Australia
New Kintsugi Repair Kits provide a way to repair ceramics (& other materials) based on the old kintsugi technique, but without using the traditional urushi laquer (that can cause allergic reactions in many people & takes many months to dry) & expensive precious metals (that can also tarnish). Instead, a synthetic fast drying resin alternative & natural mica powders are used to achieve the kintsugi look, requiring a fraction of the cost & time.
